Hi, I’m Alyssa. A queer, gender-affirming makeup, hair and brow artist. 👋

I’ve been working in the beauty industry since 2004, building my craft and deepening my belief that beauty is most powerful when it honors who we truly are, inside and out. Symbiotic Beauty was born from this philosophy: that feeling beautiful on the outside can nurture confidence on the inside, and when we feel grounded in ourselves, it radiates outward.

My approach is always methodical, reassuring, and rooted in care. I like to start with a conversation, one where we explore what you want, what you don’t want, and how I can help you feel like the most authentic version of yourself. I believe beauty services should feel collaborative, respectful, and affirming, never rushed or prescriptive.

I hold licenses in cosmetology, barbering, and permanent makeup in the state of Colorado (one of the only states that requires full certification for PMU) and I’m committed to ongoing education to keep growing in this work. It’s a privilege to be trusted with someone’s face or hair, and I don’t take that lightly.

When I’m not working, I’m usually traveling, going to concerts, seeing family and friends and hanging out with my partner Tommy (an amazing photographer!) and my sweet Chewini dog named Dublin, Dubs for short. I love being one-on-one with people and creating space where they feel seen, understood, and celebrated - especially if they’re navigating aging, gender expression, or simply wanting a low-maintenance, natural look that feels just right.
